Dronisos Raises 2M€ to Accelerate Growth

Dronisos raises two million euros from Galia Gestion, Aquiti Gestion, Expanso Capital, and entrepreneurs from Nouvelle-Aquitaine

Already a European leader in automatic indoor and outdoor drone shows, the Bordeaux-based company secures, through this first fundraising round, the necessary resources to ensure the industrialization of its products and license its technology worldwide.

Based in the Bordeaux metropolitan area since its creation in November 2016, Dronisos already boasts top-tier references in the field of drone shows. Dronisos provides unique shows to its clients such as the Arlette Gruss circus, Airbus, Futuroscope, as well as other major theme parks…

The company also produces shows for major events featuring around a hundred drones, such as during the opening ceremonies of the Asian Games in August 2017 in Kuala Lumpur or the Gulf Cup in December 2017 in Kuwait City. Dronisos is to date the only company in the world flying hundreds of drones in environments as complex as stadiums.

Thanks to the expertise thus developed, Dronisos also intends to establish itself in the field of "intelligent" inspection. Dronisos and Altametris, a subsidiary of SNCF, announced last month at the Vivatech trade show the launch of an "all-in-one" drone service designed for inspecting industrial assets. Named Oscar, this subscription-based service offered to major corporate accounts includes all the elements necessary for the daily use of drones by their own agents. It includes the supply and maintenance of drones, their management, agent training, necessary insurance, mission preparation, obtaining flight authorizations, archiving and analyzing collected data via machine learning, and issuing inspection reports.

After a first financial year during which the company achieved a revenue of over 1 million euros excluding tax, Dronisos is today completing a 2 million euro fundraising round.

Participating in this funding round are the Aquitaine funds Galia Gestion, Aquiti Gestion, and Expanso Capital, a subsidiary of Caisse d’Epargne Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes. Two entrepreneurs are also joining the company's capital: Hervé Berthou and Nicolas Béraud, respectively founders and executives of Systonic and Betclic, two companies located in the Bordeaux metropolitan area.

“Drones and, more generally, robots, combined with artificial intelligence, will contribute to changing our world. We are very proud to participate at our level in this revolution; this first fundraising round, along with the arrival of a new, experienced team by our side, will give us the means to achieve our plans,” indicates Jean-Dominique Lauwereins, CTO of Dronisos.
